Chapter Programs
Computer Club
NSBE members educate primary school age students
(1st - 5th Grade) on the inner workings of
computers and networking equipment, as well
as some of their common uses. The program
occurs on alternating Thursdays at the Institute
of Global Scholarship in the Five Points
neighborhood of Denver.
Program suspended for 2002-2003 School Year
Future City Competition
A national competition held during National Engineers Week each year that is designed to ignite interest in math, science, and engineering through hands-on applications in middle school age students. The Denver Alumni Extension sponsors the Colorado Regional Competition held every January.
Rocket Club
Composed of several 12 week curricula where students are introduced to the basic concepts of model rocketry and progress to advanced levels of rocket design that lead to a semi-annual rocket launch. This program is currently held on Thursdays and Fridays at Columbine Elementary School in Denver and is aimed at students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades.
Try-Math-A-Lon Competition
The program has NSBE-AE members working with
high school students to assist in mastering
math skills and Black History knowledge.
Denver AE sponsors the Denver Metro Competition
where students compete in teams of four to
solve various Math problems and answer several
Black History questions.
Program suspended for 2002-2003
