Pod Publicity by Heather R. Wallace is a very straightforward guide to the world of Print-on-Demand books. If you’ve ever tinkered around with the idea of writing a book – this is great introduction to online publishers and basic marketing strategies to try and generate an audience and buyers. This takes a very honest approach and doesn’t fool the reader into believing that they will become a best seller overnight. While the marketing strategies are very basic, it does include reviews of websites and programs if you’ve never tried them which is valuable info. This book is good for beginners.

I have now written over 30 POD books, and this title was pretty helpful. I particularly enjoyed the part of the book before it got to the marketing section, because that is something a lot of books don’t focus on. The marketing section was short and quick, but still would be a good book for first-timers in the POD market. I loved the book, you will too.

    Enjoy!

I really enjoyed reading this book. It takes you through the possible pitfalls of publishing, and the negatives as well as the positives of print on demand. I enjoyed the book starting out with a brief semi history of self publishing in the digital age. Then it went on to point out very good reasons not to just self publish, as well as good reasons taking the traditional road to getting your book published is not for most. I think this is a must read for any aspiring author. It may not be the final authority you will use to make your decisions, but if you are looking to get your book in print, this is information you should have.

I have been considering publishing a non-fiction book. The more I have researched it, the more I have learned how much goes into self-publishing a book. This book was helpful. I have learned print-on-demand technology is also a business model that saves money.

I have also learned that authors have to promote their own book for it to sell and alas, POD books for some reason are a little harder to promote. This book has provided me a great deal of information about how to develop a plan to promote a book if I decide to actually go ahead with the idea.
